The Root River Trail System

User Alert: The 8 mile trail segment between Whalan and Peterson will be closed until the bridge repairs and repaving is complete early September, 2015. Please enjoy many portions of the 52 miles of paved trail system this year!

The trail bridge located in Lanesboro (heading toward Fountain) is closed for re-decking and re-surfacing. Repairs will be finished at the end of October. Please use the marked detour around the bridge. The detour is very short and utilizes Lanesboro's Historic Walking bridge and the bike path crossing beneath County Road 8 to the Bass Pond parking lot. The detour re-connects to the trail just west of the bridge under repair.
