The City of Houston, Minnesota, is tucked down in the beautiful Root River Valley, along the National Historic Bluff Country Scenic Byway Hwy 16. Houston boasts one of the best trailheads in the state, featuring the Houston Nature Center, a band-shell, natural playground, recycled bike art, parking, walk-in campsites and showers. The Trailhead serves the area’s famed Root River Trail and has an 18-acre park featuring native prairie and wetland plant species.
Take a long walk or bike ride on the scenic Root River Trail, and then stay awhile to visit the International Owl Center, shops, and popular restaurants in Houston.
