Nestled in the Root River Valley
The City of Rushford Village is nestled in the Root River Valley between bluffs and State Forest. Rushford Village is an incorporated city that is 33 square miles and actually surrounds the cities of Rushford and Peterson. The Historic Bluff Country National Scenic Byway (State Hwy 16) runs through Rushford Village, much of it near the Root River State Trail and along the Root River.
The Root River is used extensively for fishing, tubing, and canoeing with several launch sites. Agriculture is a major component of the local economy with manufacturing and small businesses that complement commercial retail and larger employers within the cities of Rushford and Peterson. Check out Trailside Campground, located just off of State Hwy 16 and the Root River Trail, and Sweet Dreams B&B (truly a rural retreat!) for lodging and accommodations!
